Feed The Homeless

We now are able to feed our homeless friends more than just sandwiches.  We serve them some of Las Vegas’ best restaurant’s food.  We also serve @ six different locations throughout the week and also do late night runs.  The six locations are N Las Vegas (Ann Road), NE Las Vegas (Nellis), SW Las Vegas (Sunset Park), South Las Vegas (2 locations Jones & Flamingo and Decatur & Flamingo).  Most locations are fed during the evening.

This is all made possible by the generous donations of our wonderful sponsors and also all the men and women who donate and volunteer their time to cooking and helping us distribute meals.

We are alway accepting donations.  Any type of food is accepted as long as it’s edible. As far as non food items, we always need plastic zip lock bags (either quart or gallon) and we gladly accept new and used but in good condition clothing items, blankets, sleeping bags, tents, coolers, etc.   Socks, water bottles, hand wipes, maxi-pads, tampons,  toothbrush & toothpaste, nail clippers, band aids, chapstick & hand wipes are a definite need as well.  We are also in need of plastic forks and crock pots.  Please do not donate something you otherwise wouldn’t use on your own if you did need it.  Donating a broken freezer to us (it’s happened twice) doesn’t help us lol!

When this program first began, we started feeding the homeless Every Sunday @ 8AM, Louisa’s New Leash On Life Rescue along with several Animal Network volunteers went to downtown Las Vegas and passed out food for both homeless dogs and people. We handed out about 41 bags of dog food and over 450+ lunch bags to the homeless each Sunday. We had to modify what we were doing because of ordinance by the city and no longer feed 450 people in a day, but we do feed over 250+ a week now 🙂
